People often ask how I do it. It's tough to pinpoint because so much of it is instinctive and hard to define.

In the buildup to a major tournament, I become highly goal-focused. I set aside energy-draining distractions, including social activities. It may seem selfish, but top athletes must prioritize at times.

The art of peaking is truly the art of letting go. Self-discipline is the key word. It's vital not just for elite athletes, but for anyone chasing a goal. If you're aiming to lose weight, you'll need to resist temptations like apple pie with whipped cream or fries. Self-denial isn't fun, but it's essential for success.
