Great news for cheese lovers: A modest daily serving of cheese may reduce heart disease and stroke risk, despite its fatty reputation. This timely research from the European Journal of Nutrition arrives just before holiday feasts.
Experts from Soochow University in China reviewed 15 European and American studies covering over 200,000 people. Results show that 40g of cheese daily correlates with a 14% lower risk of heart disease and 10% reduced heart attack risk. This amount boosts good cholesterol and lowers bad cholesterol, thanks to cheese's calcium. Larger portions may not yield the same benefits, and long-term effects require further study.
In moderation, cheese can support heart health—enjoy responsibly!
