The French AIDS awareness organization AIDES launched a bold advertising campaign timed with the Euro 2016 football tournament in France. Titled 'Colors of Love,' it features four striking photographs by acclaimed photographer Éric Traoré, showcasing diverse couples—both heterosexual and homosexual—nude and bodypainted in the flag colors of competing nations: Belgium and Iceland, Romania and Portugal, Germany and Sweden, plus England and Russia. Subtle lighter areas and blended paints evoke intimacy, symbolizing connection.
Aurélien Beaucamp, president of AIDES, told Le Parisien: "This campaign, photographed by Éric Traoré, celebrates fraternity among peoples and the joy of sexuality." With its provocative edge, it urges Europeans to prioritize self-care and mutual protection amid the festivities.
While coinciding with Euro 2016, Beaucamp stresses separating health vigilance from the pitch: "Some blur sports rivalry with nationalism—this offbeat, provocative AIDES approach counters it perfectly." The message? "Mix together, protect each other," and above all, "make love, not war."
