Ferrero Rocher Recalls Le Grand Ferrero Rocher Noir Over Undeclared Milk Proteins

In challenging times, treating yourself to chocolate offers genuine comfort and boosts mood when enjoyed in moderation. However, consumer safety always comes first. Ferrero Rocher, beloved for its premium confections, has initiated a voluntary recall of one of its popular products due to undeclared milk proteins.

Which Product is Affected?

On December 25, Spain's Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) announced the market withdrawal of Le Grand Ferrero Rocher Noir, a dark chocolate and hazelnut treat. The issue: undeclared milk proteins on the label. Aesan advises consumers with severe milk allergies or sensitivities not to consume it and to contact Ferrero customer service at [email protected]. According to The Independent, Ferrero identified this during a self-inspection, promptly notified distributors, and began the recall process.

Potential Health Risks

Primarily sold in Spain, with traces in Portugal and Benelux countries (not available in France), the product was flagged by Catalan health authorities. Those with dairy allergies should discard it as a precaution. The general population faces no risk. Allergy symptoms may include swelling, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or vomiting in severe cases.
