As an experienced yoga instructor, I know the headstand (Sirsasana) delivers profound calm and focus—but only after overcoming initial frustrations. Here's why it might not be clicking yet.
Why Isn't Your Headstand Working?
1. Fear of Falling
Even unconscious fear blocks progress. It's often unfounded, but you won't know until you face it. Start practicing against a wall to build courage and refine your form.
2. Weak Base
Secure your forearms or palms (depending on the variation) firmly on the floor. Invest time in proper setup for stability.
3. Insufficient Strength
Balancing demands robust arms and core. Without this foundation, holding steady is nearly impossible—build it gradually through targeted practice.
4. Poor Alignment
Keep hips stacked over shoulders, feet directly above. If you're tipping, consult your yoga teacher for personalized alignment cues.
