Sleep profoundly impacts physical fitness and mental health—a fact backed by science—yet 12 million French people report poor sleep quality. Expert advice like banishing screens from the bedroom and embracing total darkness lays a solid foundation for restful nights. But optimizing your bedding setup takes it further. Two French innovators, Thomas Hervet and Antoine Puechbroussou, zeroed in on the pillow: cherished for comfort yet often the culprit behind nagging pains. Drawing from real-world experience, they developed Wopilo—a pillow with a patented design that fuses the plush feel of a classic pillow with the precise cervical support of ergonomic models. It started with Thomas's own battles: restless nights and wake-up aches. Frustrated by off-the-shelf options, he partnered with an osteopath to engineer his dream pillow.
Antoine Puechbroussou, then building a sleep-tracking app, jumped aboard after rave reviews from friends and sleep specialists. Wopilo's secret? Dual microfiber-lined pockets flanking a high-quality memory foam core. "The thicker side delivers that softer, traditional comfort, while the thinner side offers firmer support with direct memory foam contact," Antoine explains. After intensive design work starting in fall 2016, they launched a Kickstarter campaign on May 30. Handcrafted in a French workshop that supplies luxury hotels, Wopilo hooked backers fast: smashing the €20,000 goal in under a week and raising over €50,000 (at time of writing).
The pillow is available via Kickstarter for €69 (shipping included in France) while the campaign runs—ending in about 30 days—before retailing at €89. Innovative design meets affordability: perfection for better sleep.
