A good night's sleep is vital for daily performance, and research strongly advises against drinking alcohol before bed to ensure quality rest.
Alcohol Before Bed = Poor Sleep Quality
While a mojito or glass of wine may help you fall asleep faster, alcohol undermines restorative sleep overnight. In a study published in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, researchers Julia Chan and Christian L. Nicholas analyzed young adults aged 18-21 using electroencephalograms (EEGs). After consuming alcohol before bed, participants showed frontal lobe activity akin to chronic pain responses—absent on alcohol-free nights. Notably, orange juice triggered similar disruptions.
It's a clear choice: prioritize quality sleep over evening drinks.
