Coca-Cola Life: The Innovative Low-Sugar Soda Sweetened Naturally with Stevia

Coca-Cola continues to evolve its lineup with Coca-Cola Life, a lighter version of its classic drink now rolling out across Europe. This vibrant green 330ml can packs just 89 calories, sweetened naturally with stevia instead of artificial additives.

No Aspartame Involved

Previously, Coca-Cola's sugar-free drinks like Light and Zero relied on aspartame and acesulfame K—sweeteners frequently questioned by health experts. Consumer skepticism contributed to a 3% sales decline for Diet Coke in 2012 compared to the year before.

The company, which moves 2.8 billion bottles daily worldwide, countered last year with assurances based on over 200 safety studies, marketing its beverages as “quality products that always make you feel good.”

Stevia: Nature's Sweet Alternative

Building on Pepsi Next's stevia introduction last year, Coca-Cola Life harnesses extracts from this aromatic Paraguayan herb, prized for its natural sweetness and lacking any proven toxic effects to date.
