Health Experts Advise: Limit Alcohol to No More Than Two Glasses Per Day

Previously recommended at no more than three glasses of alcohol daily, the limit is now two. These updated guidelines come from experts at Public Health France and the National Cancer Institute. In their report released on Thursday, May 4, 2017, they advise consuming no more than 10 standard drinks per week and no more than two per day to protect your health.

Include Two Alcohol-Free Days Each Week

Alongside this reduction, experts emphasize avoiding daily drinking. The real risk lies in regular consumption, not just bingeing. Aim for at least two alcohol-free days per week. Note that even moderate drinking carries health risks—these guidelines simply help minimize them. France, with an average of 2.6 glasses per day, ranks among the world's top alcohol-consuming nations.
