France's Health Minister Marisol Touraine announced yesterday that e-cigarettes will soon be prohibited in workplaces. The ban is expected to take effect in a few weeks, though no exact date was specified.
Previously, employees could vape at work unless their employer had explicitly banned it through internal regulations.
This step is part of the government's comprehensive anti-tobacco plan, unveiled last September, which targets electronic cigarette use in enclosed work areas. As Minister Touraine emphasized, "the priority is to prevent the gesture of smoking from being trivialized."
