Licorice provides anti-inflammatory, healing, and anti-ulcer benefits for the stomach. Use an alcohol-free fluid extract (such as “phytostandard” licorice), 5 ml added to a glass of water, or brew a herbal tea with 1 tablespoon of roots per cup. Take 1 to 2 times a day for up to 4 weeks maximum. Contraindicated in cases of hypertension.
Its alkalinizing properties offer a mechanical buffer action. Dissolve 1 teaspoon in a glass of water, or drink a large glass of bicarbonate-rich water (such as Saint-Yorre, Vichy-Célestins, or Badoit). Repeat if pain returns, up to 3 to 4 times a day maximum.
By lining the gastric mucosa, it protects and promotes healing. Mix 1 teaspoon in a glass of water and drink only the clay water that floats on top. Take once a day for up to 8 consecutive days (available in pharmacies and organic stores).
The go-to homeopathic remedy for difficult digestion, especially after alcohol consumption. Dissolve 3 granules under the tongue, 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals, and repeat 2 to 3 times as needed.
