Institut Curie Launches 16th 'A Daffodil for Curie' Campaign to Fund Precision Cancer Research

In France, cancer affects 382,000 people each year, leading to nearly 150,000 deaths annually. To combat this major health challenge and accelerate research breakthroughs, Institut Curie—a world-renowned cancer research leader—launched the 16th edition of its national solidarity campaign, A Daffodil for Curie, on March 10. Running through March 22, the initiative aims to raise €700,000 in donations to advance precision medicine.

Unlocking Cancer Secrets at the Cellular Level

"An essential tool for superior diagnosis and patient care," states Institut Curie. To conquer cancer effectively, examination must extend beyond the organ and tissue to the molecular depths of cells. Current research at Institut Curie targets tumor heterogeneity: understanding why some cells resist treatments while others respond, enabling tailored therapies.

In 2019, the A Daffodil for Curie campaign successfully raised €630,000 for basic research, accelerating insights into cancer development.
