Urgent Recall: Glitter Phone Cases Linked to Chemical Burns and Scarring

It's tempting to add flair to your smartphone with a sparkling case—those with shifting sequins are particularly mesmerizing. But there's a critical danger: the liquid inside is toxic. A crack can unleash severe chemical burns, potentially causing permanent scars.

MixBin Electronics, a leading maker of these cases (widely sold on Amazon), has issued a recall after 24 confirmed incidents, as reported by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Symptoms Vary Widely

Over 275,000 units were sold across Europe, the UK, and the US. The CPSC lists symptoms including permanent scars from chemical burns, plus swelling on the legs, face, neck, chest, upper body, and hands. Verify if yours is affected via the CPSC's online product list, which includes Victoria's Secret models. Eligible owners can claim a full refund.

A plain case might lack sparkle, but it's far safer for you and your device.
