Renowned American actress Kelly Preston, celebrated for her memorable roles in films like Twins, Mischief, Jerry Maguire, and For the Love of the Game, passed away on Sunday, July 12. Her husband of 30 years, John Travolta, shared the devastating news via Instagram on Monday, July 13.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a brave fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will be forever grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that helped her, and her many friends and loved ones who stood by her side,” the 66-year-old actor wrote.

A Mother of Three

He continued: “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I'm going to take some time off to be there for my kids who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while. But know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months to come as we heal. All my love.”

Kelly Preston starred in more than 45 films. She was previously married to actor Kevin Gage from 1985 to 1987. She met John Travolta on the set of CSI in 1987, and the couple wed in Paris in 1991. They shared three children: Ella Bleu, 20; Benjamin, 9; and Jett, who tragically passed away in 2009 at age 16 from complications related to autism and Kawasaki disease.
